As part of a civilian-military mission to support stability, the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army completed a Nablus field hospital in 2024 to treat thousands of local residents.

The head of Jordan’s medical mission said the completion of the hospital falls within his country’s overall efforts to aid the Palestinian people. He stressed that the medical staff is working diligently to provide the best care possible to people living in Nablus and neighboring villages affected by conflict.

Besides establishing the hospital in Nablus, the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army has been running two military field hospitals in Gaza, the latest established in Khan Younis in November 2023. The hospitals have alleviated suffering for nearly 100,000 Gaza residents enduring harsh living conditions.

In Nablus, for example, the hospital includes medical clinics providing health care in various specialties: pediatrics, gynecology, internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, dermatology, ophthalmology, optometry, dentistry and general medicine. It has three rooms for surgeries and two intensive care units, a radiology
and sterilization laboratory, and a pharmacy.

Jordanian charitable organizations also have been facilitating the flow of international humanitarian aid to Gazans, making Jordan a gateway for transporting food, relief and medical aid to civilians enduring harsh living conditions resulting from the Gaza conflict.

The Jordan Armed Forces, in cooperation with the World Central Kitchen, has dispatched a mobile bakery to Gaza with the ability to produce 3,500 loaves of bread per hour.

The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization was a key organizer of the “Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza” conference held in Jordan in June 2024. Aiming to find ways to bolster the international community’s response to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the conference was co-organized by Jordan, Egypt and the United Nations. It drew top government representatives and global organizations such as the American Near East Refugee Aid.
